FOTD: Purple Pop!

This look is inspired by the sexy tv personality, Ellen Adarna.. ;) She's so beautiful and sexy! She's like so petite and innocent-looking but don't be fooled by those characteristics.. Because I personally think she can definitely kick-ass! She's also good in comedy! :)

Here's the look where I got my inspiration:

FHM Philippines December 2010 issue

She has an orange-y color on her lids and purple on lower lash line, contoured cheeks and hot pink lips.. I love the eye look most because it highlights her beautiful chinita eyes.. The purple shadow emphasized her eyes by giving a pop of color.. The hot pink gloss made her full lips look more luscious but not too strong to overpower the eyes but rather complement it.. And to balance it off, the cheeks are contoured.. (Is it obvious that I had a girl crush on Ellen?lol)

Now, for my take:

Products used:
  • e.l.f. Regular & Waterproof Mascara Duo in Noire
  • e.l.f. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black
  • random eyeliner pen in Silver
  • Rimmel London Colour Rush Quad Eyeshadow in 019 Sun Safari
  • herbench/ Paintbox Eyeshadow Duo in Hide n' Seek
  • e.l.f. All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade
  • e.l.f. Lipstick in Natural
  • Tony Moly Berry Berry Magic Lip Tint in Strawberry
  • random lash curler

First, I applied the copper-y eyeshadow color all over my upper lids, then the champagne-colored shadow on the inner thirds of my lower lash line..

Line eyes with the black liner on upper lash line and winged it a bit to fake the 'chinita' eyes and the silver liner at the water line..

Apply mascara..

This look can be worn this way and is very appropriate for daytime..
And for the 'purple pop', I applied the purple shadow on the outer 2/3 of my lower lash line

The purple shadow adds some extra oomph! and transformed the look into something that can be worn night time

For my cheeks, I applied the e.l.f. color stick in dabbing motion to avoid streaks of color

For my lips, I applied the lip tint in the middle part of my lips to create a 'just bitten look' and then the lipstick on the rest of my lips

And for the final look

I decided to tone down the rest of the colors (cheeks and lips) because I intended to wear this daytime and the eye colors were also on the lighter side.. I don't want to look like all made up with loads of makeup on my face that I look like I'm attending a red carpet event or something! :) I want to have fresh face look with just the right amount of color to add some interest..

How about you, will you try this look kind of look? What do you think of color makeup? Will you wear them daytime? Let me know your thoughts! I'll be happy to read your comments! Stay pretty! :)
